Music For Life
As a group of adult amateur musicians, the Festival Wind Orchestra aims to promote the lifelong love of music. To help meet this goal we have developed the “Music for Life” program which allows us to work with music educators in the school system to demonstrate to students how music performance can be a part of their lives once they’ve left the school system.
Some examples of the types of programs we can arrange:
- concerts for students and parents with an educational component
- joint rehearsal with pieces that each group has rehearsed independently
- small group discussion between orchestra members and students playing in the same section
- combinations of rehearsal and concert
Previous programs have garnered extremely positive feedback from teachers, students and parents and as an orchestra we’ve really enjoyed meeting with young people to share our experiences and talents.
We are happy to work with you to design personalized programs that meet the needs of both the educator and the students. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact Melanie Care at 416-906-4850 or email us at music4life@festivalwindorchestra.com.
